About Me
My name is Lindsay Scott and I am a junior at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Currently I am majoring in English with a concentration in Professional Writing, and minoring in Digital Arts. I am also pursuing a certificate in Professional Writing.
As a Professional Writing major, I write both academically and professionally, but focus on the professional-side of writing. Many courses I have taken include a variety of writing situations and assignments, including the ability to read texts carefully and write effectively in the context of organizations. Technology is incorporated into most courses to aid in writing, research, and communication. One of my best skills, illustrated in my website, is written communication. I have been trained in journalism, technical writing, business writing, and public discourse, with the passion and knowledge about global and cultural effects of language.
As a Digital Arts minor, I use the Adobe Creative Suite to illustrate and design my projects. I participated in the first ever Zine illustration and publication for UNCW's Randall Library with my Zine "A User's Guide to Everything Cat." I also recently illustrated a story for the Randall Library Flash Fiction contest.
Throughout my college career, my goal has been to graduate with extensive knowledge and experience in my future field of Digital Media. After graduation, I plan to get a Master's degree in Digital Media from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill or North Carolina State University.
